KREASI RASA BY DUA BELIBIS

It was a fortunate moment for me to be a part of this creative event launched by the Dua Belibis group. They recently came up with this idea of collaborating with the tenants in Pasar Santa to create their new signature dishes by using Dua Belibis’s products.

Their products appeal to me and definitely more to my mom and dad since they have been using their products for years, and both my mom and dad are such (kid admittable) talented cooks. As someone who also enjoys cooking, but not yet an expert in the field, sometimes I feel like Dua Belibis’ products really help me, mostly in magically turning the food that I cooked from good to even better, especially when I cook fried food, note this: any fried food with Dua Belibis’ chili sauce is simply YUM! Must admit their best selling chili sauce is one of the best you can find in the market at the moment.
The launching took place at Pasar Santa two weeks ago and I was invited to be one of the panel of judges (along with Mullie from My Fun Food Diary and the Dua Belibis team) to crown that one dish that stood out the most from the crowd. 19 tenants participated in this event and they were Eat Me, Legoh, Osaka Takoyaki, Roastbeefgusto, Chickenerie, Miegalomen, Lava Rock, Mie Chino, Fat Baba, At Town Takoyaki House, Gayobies, 17 Chefs, Tukang Es Krim, DOG, Padma, Fat Boy, Nasgor, Kedai Tjiadem and Warung Jangkung.

Besides the exciting creations, the highlight of the launching must be the awaited performance by Kunto Aji. Geez I like this guy! He’s super duper humble and the type of person who’s showing it all off using his admirable talent, his voice is AMAZING and my sister (who I happened to come with) just couldn’t stop “wow-ing” over his voice.

Most of the creations did pretty well in terms of concept, presentation, creativity and flavor. Some of them clealry put extra effort to come up with this one menu that overall could represent not only their brand, but also the usage of Dua Belibis’ products to their dishes. The curated dishes are going to be exclusively sold in their tenants in Pasar Santa for the next couple of months.

The lighting was not the best for picture taking as it was specially set for events or performances, but I tried to capture some shots that I hope are still acceptable :D

I didn’t know how the other judges rank the dishes, but when it comes to me, flavor needs to be the priority, then followed with the beautiful texture & presentation! I did emphasize on how creative the tenants were in applying the Dua Belibis products to the dishes: whether they really make the product as a part of the ingredient, how much products they’re using and the products role in pre and post production. I just want to see something different, something unique and something that I haven’t seen before that could “WOW” me!

I might not the best cook, but I have a palate so detailed and strong *evil smirk*

 The participated tenants

In the end, we all agreed to crown Eat Me as the first winner of this “Kreasi Rasa” competition. Okay, appearance wise, their food appeal to my eye and taste bud, the way they presented the food was nice and appetizing and on top of that, all that nice look and stuff went along with the beautiful flavor. Perfectly seasoned and good application of the Dua Belibis product to their dish. I just simply loved this!

For those who didn’t manage to come to the grand opening, well rest assure as the Kreasi Rasa will be in Pasar Santa every Wednesday night! Come join the crowd and let the good food and good times unite!

O Se Yo, Lidcombe

That massive pot of simmering soup you see people eating at Korean restaurants? Meet jeongol, said to have once been the preserve of the rich or the royal. You can put anything in here: meat, seafood, tofu, vegetables, dumplings and even whole cakes of instant noodles. Jeongol has been claimed by everyone now, but there’s still something quite majestic about lazily picking your way through the

Otaru: Squid ink ice cream, eight layer soft serves and the Nikka Whisky distillery in Yoichi

Giant eight-layer soft serve? That got your attention! But there's more to Otaru than crazy ice creams. This picturesque port city is a popular getaway for locals and tourists. It also makes for a handy base to explore Yoichi, the birthplace of Nikka Whisky Distillery. And then there's the ice cream. In addition to giant soft serves, it's also home to a shop with all kinds of wacky ice cream

New Star Kebabs, Auburn

We’ve all been there. A late-night kebab loaded with meat and dripping with chilli sauce after a beer or three is a rite of passage. And even though New Star Kebabs is open late enough to help you kick that impending hangover to the kerb before it’s even begun (until midnight every evening), you’ll probably enjoy their kebabs even more when you’re sober. Seriously.
